The ATO results from the 2023 Australian Public Service (APS) Employee Census are now available for download.

All APS agencies are now required to publish an action plan in relation to the Census. The ATO’s action plan will address key identified areas from the 2023 results, with activities and initiatives to be developed and implemented across the 2023-24 and 2024-25 financial years.

The census is an opportunity for APS employees to tell the APS Commissioner what they think about working in the APS. It collects their confidential opinions and information about issues such as:

  • health and wellbeing
  • performance management
  • leadership
  • general impressions of the APS.

All APS employees were invited to participate in the census, which was carried out between 8 May – 9 June 2023

During this time, 77% of ATO employees participated in the census.
