Application for ABN registration for individuals (sole traders)

Overview

There are a number of options available if you need to register for:

  • an Australian business number (ABN)
  • goods and services tax (GST)
  • fuel tax credits
  • pay as you go (PAYG) withholding
  • fringe benefits tax (FBT)
  • luxury car tax (LCT)
  • wine equalisation tax (WET)

You can apply for an ABN and any of the other registrations mentioned above:

  • online via the Australian Business Register at www.abr.gov.au
  • through your tax agent, or
  • by completing an Application for ABN registration for individuals (sole traders) (NAT 2938).
