Customs Amendment (2007 Harmonized System Changes) Bill 2006

OUTLINE

The purpose of this Bill is to amend the Customs Act 1901 to enable the Chief Executive Officer of Customs (the CEO) to revoke approximately 700 Tariff Concession Orders (TCOs) that will be affected by amendments to the Customs Tariff Act 1995 by the Customs Tariff Amendment (2007 Harmonized System Changes) Bill 2006, and to replace them with approximately 1200 new TCOs.

FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT

The amendments in this Bill have no financial impact.
