Schedule 3 - Application of amendments

Item 1 - Application of amendments made by this Act

This is a formal clause that specifies that the amendments made by the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Slavery, Slavery-like Conditions and People Trafficking) Act 2012 apply to offences against the law of the Commonwealth committed (or alleged to have been committed) on or after the day the Act commences.

The note in this Item provides a cross-reference to section 2 of this Act, which provides that the Act commences on the day after it receives the Royal Assent (see page 4, above).
