SECTION 258   Magistrate may order that the thing be retained  

258(1)    
The magistrate may order that the * authorised officer who made an application under section 257 may retain the thing if the magistrate is satisfied that it is necessary for the officer to do so for the purpose of initiating or conducting proceedings under this Act.

258(2)    
The order must specify the period for which the officer may retain the thing.
