Petroleum (Timor Sea Treaty) Act 2003

SECTION 5   Definitions  

(1)    
In this Act, unless the contrary intention appears:

JPDA
means the Joint Petroleum Development Area established in Article 3 of the Treaty.

History

Definition of " Petroleum Mining Code " repealed by No 57 of 2019, s 3 and Sch 1 item 140, effective 30 August 2019. The definition formerly read:

Petroleum Mining Code
means the Code referred to in Article 7 of the Treaty (including the interim code referred to in paragraph 7(b) of the Treaty).

Treaty
means the Timor Sea Treaty between Australia and East Timor done at Dili on 20 May 2002, as in force immediately before the commencement of Schedule 1 to the Timor Sea Maritime Boundaries Treaty Consequential Amendments Act 2019 .

History

Definition of " Treaty " substituted by No 57 of 2019, s 3 and Sch 1 item 141, effective 30 August 2019. The definition formerly read:

Treaty
:

(a) means the Timor Sea Treaty between Australia and East Timor done on 20 May 2002, being the Treaty the text of which is set out in Schedule 1; and

(b) includes that Treaty as amended from time to time.

Unless the contrary intention appears, a word or an expression that is defined in the Treaty has, when used in this Act, the same meaning as in the Treaty.
