Division 653 - Appointment of Registrar and Deputy Registrars  

SECTION 653-1   REGISTRAR OF ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER CORPORATIONS  

653-1(1)    
There is to be a Registrar of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporations.

653-1(2)    
The Registrar is to be appointed by the Minister and has such duties, functions and powers as are provided for by this Act or another law of the Commonwealth.

653-1(3)    
The Registrar holds office for such period of up to 5 years that is specified in the instrument of appointment.
