Register of Foreign Ownership of Agricultural Land Act 2015

9   Section 4 (definition of registration trigger time)

Repeal the definition, substitute:

registration trigger time :

(a) in relation to a right held by a person to occupy land under a lease or licence - means the latest of the following times:

(i) the time the person started to hold the right;

(ii) the time the person became a foreign person;

(iii) the time the land became agricultural land;

(iv) the start of 1 July 2015; or

(b) in relation to a contractual water right held by a person - means the latest of the following times:

(i) the time the person started to hold the right;

(ii) the time the person became a foreign person;

(iii) the start of 1 December 2017.
