Division 3 - Decision-makers to give reasons for decisions  

SECTION 268   REQUESTING REASONS FOR REVIEWABLE DECISION FROM DECISION-MAKER  

268(1)    
A person whose interests are affected by a reviewable decision may request the decision-maker to give the person a statement of reasons for the decision.

Note 1:

For which decisions are reviewable decisions, see section 12 .

Note 2:

For when an organisation ' s or association ' s interests are taken to be affected, see section 15 .

Note 3:

For what must be included in a statement of reasons, see the definition of statement of reasons in section 4 .

268(2)    
The request must be given to the decision-maker in writing.

Note:

Requests may be refused if made outside specified timeframes (see subsection 269(8) ).
