General rule
280(1)
The Principal Registrar may, in writing, delegate the Principal Registrar ' s functions or powers under this Act, another Act or an instrument made under an Act to a registrar or staff member.
Exception - functions and powers that must not be delegated
280(2)
Despite subsection (1) , the Principal Registrar must not delegate a function or power that the Principal Registrar has because the Principal Registrar is authorised under section 283 to perform or exercise the function or power.
Delegates must comply with directions
280(3)
In performing or exercising a function or power delegated under this section, the delegate must comply with any written directions of the Principal Registrar.
