When setting up your myGovID, the documents you use may display your name in different ways.
You can now choose a different name when using a verified identity document. For example, you may wish to use your maiden name or you’ve changed your name since you first set up your myGovID.
To choose a different name:
1. Select 'My identity' located at the bottom of your myGovID app.
2. Select 'Identity details' and a list of your verified documents with corresponding names will display.
3. Identify your preferred name and select 'Use this name'.
4. Select 'Continue' to confirm the update.
For security purposes, you’ll receive an email notification letting you know when changes are made to your myGovID.
