We are authorised by the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992 (SGAA) to ask for information on this form. We need this information to help us to administer the tax and super laws. If the information is not collected we cannot provide a certificate of coverage to the applicant.

We recently collected personal information about the individuals and entities included on the application. The information collected either related to the employee’s secondment to work in another country or to their employment in Australia. We are authorised under the SGAA to collect this information. We use this information to determine eligibility for a certificate of coverage.

Where authorised by law, we may give this information to other government departments and agencies, including:

  • Department of Home Affairs
  • Services Australia

We also provide taxpayer information to treaty partners overseas under international tax agreements with other countries. This certificate of coverage may be shared with treaty countries in accordance with the relevant Social Security Agreement.

Our privacy policy contains important information about your privacy, including information about how you can access and seek correction of information we hold about you, how to make a complaint if you think we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles and how we will deal with any privacy complaints.
