We are authorised by the Taxation Administration Act 1953 to request your tax file number (TFN). We will use your TFN to identify you in our records. It is not an offence not to provide your TFN but if you don't there may be a delay processing your application.
We are also authorised under the Superannuation (Government Co-Contribution for Low Income Earners) Act 2003 to collect the information we request in the Contributions for personal injury forms. We will use this information to administer the taxation and superannuation laws. If this information is not collected, we will not be able make a direct payment to you of your superannuation co-contribution and/or low income superannuation contribution.
