We are authorised by the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 to collect the information requested on the Notification of provisional head company no longer eligible form. We need it to update the details of a multiple entry consolidated (MEC) group. If your form is incomplete, incorrect or needs checking, it may delay processing, or we may ask you to complete a new form.

We are authorised by the Taxation Administration Act 1953 to ask for tax file numbers (TFNs). You are not required by law to provide us with a TFN, however, failure to provide a TFN may result in a delay in processing this notification.

We collect some personal information about you because you signed the form. That information will enable us to ensure that you are the person with the authority within the company to complete the form. It will also allow us to contact you if we need further information.

Where authorised by law, we may give this information to other government departments and agencies, including:

  • Australian Bureau of Statistics
  • Law Enforcement Agencies
  • Centrelink

We also provide taxpayer information to treaty partners overseas under international tax agreements.
