We are authorised to ask for the information on this form by the following legislation:
- Income Tax Assessment Act 1936
- Income Tax Assessment Act 1997
- Taxation Administration Act 1953.
We need this information to help us administer the taxation laws. If your form is incomplete, incorrect or needs checking, it may delay processing. We may also ask you to complete a new form.
Personal information you provide on this form may be used to check that you have the authority to complete the form. We may contact you if we need more information because you signed the NFP self-review return (for example, in your capacity as an office holder).
Where authorised by law, we may give the information collected to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and to other government departments and agencies, including:
- Department of Education
- Department of Employment
- Department of Social Services
- Services Australia
- State and Federal Police
- Australian Bureau of Statistics
- Director of Public Prosecutions
- Reserve Bank of Australia.
