Privacy notice
We are authorised by the Taxation Administration Act 1953 (TAA) to request tax file numbers (TFNs). We will use the TFN and other information provided on this form to identify an employee for whom an employer (or their authorised agent) has requested stapled super fund information pursuant to section 32R of the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992 (SGAA) and provide the requested information (if available).
It is not an offence not to provide a TFN. However, if a TFN is not provided, there may be delays in processing the request for stapled super fund information as we must then rely on other information to identify an employee in ATO systems. Where this is not possible, we will not be able to provide the requested information.
We are authorised by law to give the information provided on this form to the agents the employer authorises to deal with requests for an employee’s stapled super fund information on their behalf.
Where authorised by law, we may also give this information to other government departments and agencies. These agencies could include Services Australia and law enforcement agencies. We may also provide taxpayer information to treaty partners overseas under international tax agreements.
