Our approach to diversity

How we demonstrate that we value a diverse and inclusive workplace.

We recognise that one of our greatest assets is the diversity of our people and the different experiences and perspectives they bring to the organisation. As an Australian Public Service (APS) agency, it is important our workforce reflects the diverse Australian community we serve. Our staff have a broad range of skills and experiences, helping us to deliver for the government and the community.

  • awarded Platinum Status in the Australian Workplace Equality Index, recognising consistent high performance in LGBTI+ inclusion
  • rated as a top five employer in the Australian Disability Network Access and Inclusion Index
  • achieved Disability Confident Recruiter status, recognising our inclusive hiring practices.

We are committed to lifting diversity and inclusion to the next level. Our 2024 Diversity and Inclusion Strategy is our formal commitment to increasing the diversity of our workforce and offering an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.
