The ATO has a series of sample files of individual tax return information available for more advanced users. These files are confidentialised in order to protect the identities of taxpayers. The existing files are a 1% sample of records, available from the 2003–04 income year.
As part of this taxation statistics report, we are releasing the sample file based on data contained in our taxation statistics 2011–12. This year’s file contains more data (now a 2% sample of records) as well as more labels from the return form.
