EOIs open for our Not-for-profit Stewardship Group

The Not-for-profit Stewardship Group (NFPSG) is one of 9 stewardship groups operated by us. The NFPSG provides an opportunity for strategic discussion and working collaboratively to improve Australia’s taxation and superannuation system into the future.

We’re looking for members that give a voice to a range of experiences from NFP organisations, professionals and academia specialising in NFP issues.

Member responsibilities include:

  • working with co-chairs to gain a better understanding of the sector to identify emerging issues
  • contribute to improving the client experience and
  • shaping the administration of tax and super for NFPs.

Membership requirements

  • You'll be appointed for 2 years commencing September 2024, with a review to be held in September 2026.
  • Attend meetings 3 times a year, with the first meeting for the new members scheduled for 19 November 2024.
  • Actively contribute to the work of the group whilst observing the ATO Consultation framework.

How to nominate

Submit a CV and a brief cover letter addressing the following:

  • capacity and commitment to attend meetings
  • experience working in the NFP sector
  • ability to advocate on matters relating to tax and superannuation administration that benefits the national interest
  • willingness to actively contribute to the issues discussed and provide insights into improving the tax and superannuation experience for NFPs
  • capacity to tap into NFP community networks to identify and raise key issues
  • commitment to timely circulation of key messages throughout your networks and to create opportunities for testing new or refined services or products.

Your nomination should be submitted to the secretariat at NFPStewardshipGroup@ato.gov.au by 31 July 2024.

You'll be advised on the outcome of your nomination by the end of September 2024, with new members announced in October 2024.
