Table 9: Audits performed by SMSF auditors
These tables show the number of SMSF auditors who performed audits in relation to each year of audit, the distribution of SMSF auditors by the number of audits they performed, the proportion of total audits performed by SMSF auditors by number of audits and the proportion of total assets audited by number of audits for the years ended 30 June 2013 to 30 June 2017.
These figures are based on SMSF annual returns.
From 1 July 2013 only SMSF auditors registered with ASIC can undertake SMSF audits, resulting in a reduction in auditors performing SMSF audits.
The year columns refer to the year being audited, not the year the audit took place.

Table 18: Asset concentrations
These tables show the distribution of SMSFs that have 50% or more of their assets by value invested in one particular asset class. For example, at 30 June 2017, 43.6% of SMSFs held 80% or more of their assets in one particular asset class, representing 28.9% of total SMSF assets.
An asset concentration of 100% indicates all assets are held within a single asset class.
These figures are estimates based on SMSF annual returns.
