You will need to know, or work out from your records, the total amounts you paid or benefits you provided for the maintenance of your child during 2012-13.
Completing your tax return
Step 1
Add up all the amounts you paid and benefits you provided for the maintenance of your child during 2012-13.
Step 2
Write the total at Z item IT7.

For income test purposes, the amounts you paid and the benefits you provided for the maintenance of your child will be deducted from the total of the other components that make up your adjusted taxable income.
