Notes on clauses

Preliminary

Clause 1 - Short title

13. This clause provides for the Bill to be cited as the Judiciary Amendment Act 2015.

Clause 2 - Commencement

14. This clause sets out when various provisions of the Judiciary Amendment Act will commence, as set out in the table.

15. Sections 1 to 3 of the Act will commence on the day it receives Royal Assent. The rest of the Act (Schedules 1, 2 and 3) will commence on either a day fixed by proclamation or, if the provisions do not commence within the period of 6 months beginning on the day the Act receives Royal Assent, on the day after the end of that period.

Clause 3 - Schedules>

16. This clause provides that any legislation that is specified in a Schedule to the Judiciary Amendment Act is amended or repealed as set out in the Schedule and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.
