S 28 repealed by No 91 of 2000, s 3 Sch 2 item 4, effective 1 July 2000. S 28 formerly read:
(1)
You are liable to a penalty if:
(a)
you make a false statement to a person who is exercising powers, or performing functions, under or in connection with this Act (whether or not you know that the statement is a false statement); and
(b)
the amount of a fuel grant that would have been payable to you in respect of a grant period if the statement was not false exceeds the amount of the fuel grant properly payable to you in respect of that grant period.
(2)
The amount of the penalty is double the excess.
