The AUSTRAC CEO may, by written notice to a cash dealer, a solicitor, a solicitor corporation or a partnership of solicitors, require the dealer, solicitor, corporation or partnership to give the authorised officer named in the notice access on the day and during the hours stated in the notice to the business premises described in the notice of the dealer, solicitor, corporation or partnership.
The hours stated in the notice must occur during business hours in the place where the business premises are situated.
27E(3) [Compliance]A cash dealer, a solicitor, a solicitor corporation or a partnership of solicitors to whom or to which a notice is given under subsection (1) must comply with the notice.
27E(4) [Accompanied by consultant]If an authorised officer is given access to business premises in compliance with a notice under this section, the officer is entitled to be accompanied by a person engaged under section 40A for the purpose of receiving advice from the person in connection with the exercise of the officer's powers under this Part.
