PART II - TRANSACTION REPORTS  

Division 1 - Cash transaction reports by cash dealers  

SECTION 8   APPROVED CASH CARRIERS  

8(1)   [Declaration by AUSTRAC CEO]  

The AUSTRAC CEO may, by notice published in the Gazette , declare a cash dealer, being a person referred to in paragraph (k) of the definition of cash dealer in subsection 3(1) , to be an approved cash carrier if the AUSTRAC CEO is satisfied that:

(a) the cash dealer maintains records containing reportable details of significant cash transactions to which the cash dealer is a party; and

(b) the declaration of the cash dealer as an approved cash carrier would not be inconsistent with the objects of this Act.

8(2)   [``reportable details'']  

In this section:

"reportable details"
has the same meaning as in section 7 .
