2   Subsection 5(1) (definition of contravention)

Repeal the definition, substitute:

contravention :

(a) in relation to an offence against a law - includes an ancillary offence relating to the offence against the law; and

(b) in relation to a civil penalty provision - has a meaning affected by section 169.
