Transitional provision

Amending Act No 111 of 1990, s 38, provides:

Where, before the commencement of this section, proceedings had been instituted in respect of a narcotic substance that was a prescribed narcotic substance, by virtue either of its inclusion in column 1 of Schedule VIII or by virtue of its having been declared by the regulations to be a prescribed narcotic substance but those proceedings had not finally been determined, those proceedings may continue as if the amendments to the Principal Act made by paragraphs 4(a), (b), (c), (d) and (g) and sections 30, 35 and 36 of this Act had not been made.
