CHAPTER 7 - THE PROPER ADMINISTRATION OF GOVERNMENT Part 7.2 - Theft and other property offences Division 132 - Other property offences SECTION 132.6 Making off without payment (1)A person commits an offence if:
(a) the person, knowing that immediate payment for any goods or services supplied by another person is required or expected from him or her, dishonestly makes off:
(i) without having paid; and
(ii) with intent to avoid payment of the amount due; and
(b) the other person is a Commonwealth entity.
Penalty: Imprisonment for 2 years.
(2)
Absolute liability applies to the paragraph (1)(b) element of the offence.
(3)
For the purposes of this section, immediate payment includes payment at the time of collecting goods in respect of which a service has been provided.
