SECTION 29B   NOTICE OF APPLICATION UNDER AUSTRALIAN SECURITY INTELLIGENCE ORGANISATION ACT  

29B(1)    
If an application is duly made to the Tribunal for the review of a security assessment, the Tribunal must cause a copy of the application, and of the statement lodged with the application, to be given to the Director-General of Security and to the Commonwealth agency, State or authority of a State to which the assessment was given.


29B(2)    
If an application is made to the Tribunal for a review of a security clearance decision or security clearance suitability assessment, the Registrar must give a copy of the application, and a copy of the statement lodged with the application, to:

(a)    the Director-General of Security; and

(b)    for an application for review of a security clearance decision - the sponsoring agency for the security clearance in relation to which the security clearance decision was made; and

(c)    for an application for review of a security clearance suitability assessment - the security vetting agency to which the suitability assessment was given.


29B(3)    
If subsection (2) applies, the Registrar must also give the applicant written notice of receipt of the application.
