An Act to amend the law relating to social security and veterans' entitlements, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1   Short title

This Act may be cited as the Social Services Legislation Amendment (Cost of Living Concession) Act 2015.

2   Commencement

 

(1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

The day this Act receives the Royal Assent.

3   Schedules

Schedule 1   Amendments

Social Security Act 1991

1   After paragraph 8(8)(zab)

Insert:

(zac) a payment, known as the Cost of Living Concession, made by the Government of South Australia;

Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986

2   After paragraph 5H(8)(zeb)

Insert:

(zec) a payment, known as the Cost of Living Concession, made by the Government of South Australia;

3   Application provision

The amendments made by this Schedule apply in relation to payments made before, on or after the commencement of this item.
