Practice mail in Online services for agents allows you to communicate with us by a secure channel, as well as view messages you have sent or we have sent you.
In the practice mailbox – you can view, delete, and allocate the messages.
Within your practice, you may also have access to more than one mailbox: your own, the practice's or another person in the practice.
Historically, practice mail was initiated by tax professionals to communicate with us via a secure channel. This is done via their individual mailbox. We are now utilising practice mail as a communication pathway more often (as emails are often restricted in size and content), and you should regularly check your inbox for the latest messages.
We have found a significant number of tax professionals are only checking their assigned inbox, not their practice inbox. Make sure you set up notifications for your own mailbox and the practice mailbox to alert you when you receive practice mail messages from us.
If you are not checking your practice mail ‘inbox’ and your assigned mailbox you may be missing important messages in respect of your clients.
