Petroleum (Timor Sea Treaty) Act 2003

Part 1 - Preliminary  

SECTION 5   Definitions  

(1)    
In this Act, unless the contrary intention appears:

JPDA
means the Joint Petroleum Development Area established in Article 3 of the Treaty.

Petroleum Mining Code
(Repealed by No 57 of 2019)

Treaty
means the Timor Sea Treaty between Australia and East Timor done at Dili on 20 May 2002, as in force immediately before the commencement of Schedule 1 to the Timor Sea Maritime Boundaries Treaty Consequential Amendments Act 2019 .

Note:

The Timor Sea Treaty is in Australian Treaty Series 2003 No. 13 ([2003] ATS 13) and could in 2019 be viewed in the Australian Treaties Library on the AustLII website (http://www.austlii.edu.au).

Unless the contrary intention appears, a word or an expression that is defined in the Treaty has, when used in this Act, the same meaning as in the Treaty.
